Fitness Boot Camp: Belly Dancing

Fitness Boot Camp: Belly Dancing

Article by Dan Clay

Watch out Shakira, here comes fitness boot camp. If you want an amazingly sexy body as fit as that of the dancer Shakira, then sign up for fitness boot camp. You won't be disappointed. Fitness boot camp instructors know the different sports and exercise routines that you need to give you a slim figure like the dancer Shakira.

One sport which targets the abdominal muscles is belly dancing. Belly dancing is an ancient form of dance that has its origins in the Middle East. Understanding Shakira's background and her fitness methods is interesting if you want to have a body as beautiful as hers (she is in the same league as far as beauty as: Madonna, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Jessica Simpson, Elizzar, Nicole Kidman, Cher, Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Ursula Andress, Brigitte Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, Raquel Welsh, and others). Shakira was born in 1977 (she is 32 years old), and she is so fit that she can flip a coin on her belly (The fitness diva, 2009).

In Shakira's music video "She Wolf", she shows her amazing flexibility and flaunts her tight abs that undoubtedly got that way through intense physical training. In one scene in the music video "She Wolf", Shakira wears a full body leotard and does flexible dancing in a cage with exotic and animalistic body movements that make one think of a wolf or even a tiger. Her dance moves in the same music video staged on the rooftop of a building are equally impressive. Then after all the dancing and swaying hip moves, she comes back into the bedroom from her walk-in closet and slips into her bed next to her sleeping husband or boyfriend. It is a serene ending to an extremely active dancing and singing performance. To have an amazing body like Shakira, exercises at fitness boot camp can really help to tone your body and to lose that unwanted weight.

After belly dance workouts at fitness boot camp, you too, can boast that your hips don't lie, like the famous dancer Shakira. Belly dancing helps you to build muscles and to develop a better posture. And belly dancing is not limited to a certain experience level or body type: people with different experience levels (from beginners to those with some belly dancing experience) and people of all different shapes and sizes can all benefit from belly dancing at fitness boot camp.

Some of the moves that belly dancers use are influenced by the dance styles of Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Lebanon, Cyprus, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the ancient styles of Persia and Mesopotamia. A graceful belly dancer can move her hips in every direction, dance with upper body movements or shimmies, do elegant arm movements, body twirls, and swinging hair motions. Many movements are very internal being powered by the core muscles of her abs, back, and inner thighs. The kicks and turns of her feet are usually subtle with her feet movements close to the floor. And the belly dancing costumes with all the accessories (the gold coins, beads, sequins, jewelry, bracelets) add something spectacular to the dancing. Sometimes a belly dancer displays a belly ring for esthetic decoration. There is something extremely sexy about a flat, lean tummy. But don't forget the unique rhythm of the belly dancing music itself which inspires the belly dancing movements. Original, authentic Arabic Trebeka drums add the spice and beat that will get your heart pumping and your body moving. The music helps incredibly with the flow and energy that goes into the belly dancing.

There is no limit to the fun you can have at fitness boot camp with all the varied types of physical fitness activities that are offered, including belly dancing.
