I fell in love with this dancer when I watched this and some other uploads by someone (sorry I cannot remember who it was!) here on youtube. I could not stop watching her, particularly in this dance. She dances to Iraqi singer Kathem al Saher song Zidini aeshqan (Increase my Passion). I love her emotion and almost theatrical performance. Notice when in the first verses she expresses the music where the singer sings "drown me my lady, the sea calls me". I love her theatrical expressions, but I can see how not everyone will like it. I cannot say how much her dance pushed me to develop my own dancing. I have started taking lessons after seeing her, bascially. I love her facial expressions, her energy.. she is my idol, briefly. While of course I do not say she can rival the really big ones like Suhair Zaki yet, but there is something young, fresh, modern about her that I believe can appeal to us in the 21st century. A new interpretation of dance. I personally believe it is important especially for young Arab dancers. Dancers the world over, from Russia to America mimick Golden Age Egyptian dancers' every move. Innovation will best come from the Arab culture itself IMO, no one else can develop something new aside the ever similar interpretations of classical sngs without losing the soul in Arabic music, which happens so easily when non Arab dancers innovate these days..
